I am a U.S. citizen and I am applying marriage-based greencard for my wife who is currently in U.S.
We just received an appointment for biometrics which is still a month away. We would like to speeden the process as we are looking to do some international travel in late Spring.
I see on these forum that a lot of people are able to get their biometrics done (walk-in) before their appointments. We want to know what is the process/requirement to get it done through a walk-in. We are located in Chicago area.
Thanks.
Going on a Wednesday afternoon or late morning would be a good bet. Most centers allow walk-ins on Wednesdays.
iM SCHEDULE FOR MY FP on 03/21/11 which is one month away.
Can I go next week? what difference will that make for my case?
Thanks guys for your advises

Unless your wife has a dual-intent status like H1B or L1, she will have to wait 2-3 months for Advance Parole before leaving the US, otherwise her I-485 will be canceled. The early walk-in biometrics wont speed up the Advance Parole approval.
If before applying for the green card she overstayed for 180 days or more, she should not leave the US without a green card, because if she leaves before that she would be banned from the US for 3 years or 10 years.
