post interview

Hi folks,

Thanks for all the guidance and tips, my green card (family based) was approved yesterday. Have a couple more questions -

I have an employment based green card pending as well, at what point does it get invalidated or revoked. I havent broken the news to the employer yet and am wondering if it even matters.

Also the interviewing officer did not take my EAD/AP. Can I use the EAD to find new work while I wait for my green card. I am on a H1B visa right now.

Once again a huge thanks for taking so much time to answer our questions.

Not to sound rude, how do you know it has been approved? Where you told it was approved by the intervewing officer? Did you receive a card production order email yet?

I have heard of cases where an applicant had an pending I-485 family ane employment based. The officer has asked them to withdraw their employment based application so that a decision can be made on the family application. However, I have also heard situations where the officer didnt know and no action could be made until both files where merged together. What that means it took time to get the other file from a service center in another state.

Thanks for all the guidance and tips, my green card (family based) was approved yesterday. Did you get a passport stamped with I-551, or an approval notice on paper? Did you receive the "card production ordered" email? Verbal approval is not official approval. The official approval may be delayed while it waits for supervisor review or other formalities.

Apologize for the confusion - I have not filed for an employment based 485 yet, my LCA & I140 have been approved. I forgot to mention about my employment application to the officer too and hence the dilemma.

I did not get the passport stamped, but the officer did give a verbal approval and he kept my I94. Also I did get my "first" card production ordered email the same day and the online status for the 485 has been updated to reflect the same.
