Ok so I filed I-485 and got RFE, they need proof of legal entry. When I first submitted paperwork I stated that my visa was in my purse which had been stolen last year. I did come here legally, I was inspected by officer at port of entry. Also, attorney had advised me to return I-94 card to port of entry which I did. Big mistake. Is anyone in a similar situation?? Please any advice as to how I can proove legal entry is appreciated. The only thing I have is a letter from bank where it shows that I used nonimmigrant visa/border crossing card to open up account.
you can get your I-94 from USCIS.
File a FOIA request to USCIS to retrieve your immigration record. Also you can apply for a replacement I-94. Good luck. I do not know if you will receive these documents before the due date for your RFE though.
