I really need help. My husband has been playing games with me especially now that feb 8th interview is fast approaching. He left the house and communicates with me only when he wants to. I heard unconfirmed reports that he is actually with another woman right now who he had been seeing for months now. Now at some point, my husband and this girl had an argument. He ended up beating her up. Because of this, the girl ended up pressing charges against him for domestic violence, acting to the cops as his wife. Later on, the girl decided to withdraw the charges against him becuase they are back together again. Obviously, it seems like my husband is casting me out of his life already. I called him up telling him the petition is still not done. He promised me he was gonna go with me to the interview next week. Now my problem is: what will happen to me if I go to the interview alone? Would my green card application be denied? What options do I have left? Please help me.

You cannot appear at the interview alone, it will be a death kiss for your petition. Do you intend to stay married to him while hes screwing around and beating women? What makes you think he wont beat you up in the future? In anyway, your case is doomed if he doesnt appear for the interview. Are you even prepared for the interview with proper documentation? Proof of joint ownership or responsibilities, utilities (gas, electric, phone, cable), lease, bank account, insurance (health, care, life and renters), pictures of marriage or justice if the peace (war) ceremony. What I alluded to are just a sample of evidence which USCIS can ask to review.

How long have know each other? How long have you been married? What equities have built together?

Is this an I-485 or I-751 interview? What was your immigration status when you filed for a greencard?

Tthis is for the I485 interview and I have all of that. I have already submitted all proof of marriage with the application forms all in one packet - I130, I485, I864, I765, G325a and I693 (not sure of the form # for the medical clearance). Got my EAD on dec 30th after years of being out of status on an expired I94 visa.

I have known my husband for a year now and weve been married for 6 months already. See the thing is, if i dont stay with the marriage, I wont get the green card. I am aware that jn the future, he may have the capacity to beat me up also like that other girl but I am left with no choice but stay with him until this petition is over. The green card I will have, if I get approved, will be conditional for 2 years. If things get worse, then I may just have to file a divorce even before the 2-year conditional status ends. By then, I will have to gather tons of evidence.
