I am applying for green card based on marriage to a US citizen. As of now, i sent my package on Dec 03 to chicago lockbox. I got NOAs for I-130, I-485 and I-765 on Dec 16. Next step will be biometrics appointment. Currently i am on OPT which expires on Jan 22, 2011.
My question is:
1. can i walk in for biometrics appointment, does that make the process any faster?
2. If i walk in, which office is good for walk-ins in chicago area and what time should i be there?
3. Also some gentleman on this forum replied to my earlier thread that i can continue working even if my OPT expires, because my application for adjustment of status is pending and as i am applying as an immediate relative. I want to reconfirm that. Should i take an infopass appointment?
1. No. You must have an appointment notice to even attempt a walk-in before the scheduled appt.
2. The notice will have the address.
3. That is correct, you can continue to work based on the pending (c)(9) EAD based on IR AOS, AND becuase you already had an EAD when you filed for AOS.
1. sorry my question was can i attempt to walk in after i get the appointment notice. Do i have to do it at the address in the notice or i can do it at any other office?
You can do a walk in if you have a Appointment letter for a future date. It has to be done at the ASC listed on the letter only.
