I-765 timelineI applied for permanent residence based on marriage to a US citizen. My package(I-130, I-485, I-765, I-864) was received at chicago Lockbox on Dec 7, 2010. I am currently on OPT which expires on Jan 22, 2011. Is there any chance that i can get my Employment authorization approved before jan 22, 2011. I am currently working as a contracter, i would have to leave my job if i dont get employment authorization before Jan 22, 2011.

As an IR (Immediate Relative) of a USC you are OK to work as soon as you have filed (and gotten receipt) the I-485 and I-765 based on that I-485. If your employer gives you grief, you can show the regulations and statute, start at 8 CFR 274a.12(c)(9) and follow the legal references in parapgaphs (c) and (9).
