Hi,
I am US citizen and I am planning to sponsor my parents for family-based green-card.
However, I have been finding name mismatch between various documents.
For example, my fathers name in all the documents (my passport, his passport etc) is mentioned as "Naresh".
However, in my birth-certificate , my fathers name is mentioned as "Nareshchandra".
My question is--> What should I do so that this name mismatch does not cause issues during green-card process? Do I need to create any affidavit or some other document?
My followup question is--> My parents marriage certificate has my fathers name mentioned as "Nareshkumar" at one place and in the same certificate, his name is mentioned as "Naresh" at another place. Again, What should I do so that this name mismatch does not cause issues during green-card process?
(I am in USA and right now, my parents are in India)
Your help/feedback/suggestions are very sincerely appreciated.
Thanks in advance-
Nikhil

You are not alone and this type of multiple name "variations" is common in India documents. You will have to create affidavits to explain and connect the names. Sometimes these are called "One and the Same" Affidavits. I am sure others will chime in on this one with first hand experience.
