Hello!
My wife (USC) and I (H1B) just applied for my AOS (please see details in my sig).
I just realized that we probably made a mistake on the form I-130. Since we were mailing the whole application to the Chicago lockbox, we put Chicago, IL, in question 22 ("Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in:"). The problem is that we actually live in... Atlanta, GA.
Is this indeed a problem and how serious, if so? How can we fix that? We havent received any confirmation/receipt letters yet. As much as I love Chicago, I just want to avoid having to travel for my FP and our interview there.
Any input will be greatly appreciated!
HI:
The world isnt ending with this innocous and fixable error.
There is nothing that you can do right now. Just wait for the Service Center to issue your NOA for all the forms. Once they are issued, you can write a letter to the NBC in St. Louis and make a request to change or correct this error because it is possible they can seek to have your case adjudicated in Chicago, IL and you have to drive from the GA to IL...
So...just relax and nothing is lost, they will issue you receipts and you can send them a copy of the NOA for I-130 and ask for the correction on the I-130.
Enjoy...
Dont worry about it, I made a similar error on one of my forms and the IO just corrected it in the interview. No biggie.
Hello Al Southner and dr_lha!
Thank you for such quick replies!

But, was your interview where you actually wanted it to be, or somewhere else?
Im just afraid that they will really want us to go to Chicago to do the Bio/FP and the interview. Is that possible?
A mistake on I-130? Serious problem?
