Atlanta AOS Interview Exprience....Approved!!!!!!!

This forum has been our guiding light as we went through this process, so I will share my experience. Our interview was today, March 27th at the Atlanta DO.

Our interview was scheduled for 1pm. We got there at 1.05pm (Atlanta traffic, thats my story and I am sticking to it!). We checked in at the entrance and was told to go to the 3rd floor. Check in there again and was told to sit and wait for our name to be called. We waited about 5 to 10 minutes (they have a nice waiting area with flat screen tvs and all). Once called, Officer Williams, or IO took us to his office and swore us in. We sat and he started to go through our file just confirming our information, name, address, phone number, SS#, occupation. He did make a few jokes, very nice and easy to chat with. He was very interest in my hubbys profession - law enforcement. He then went through the I-485 questions. No, no, no - no fraud, no terrorist etc. He then ask for documentation of marriage. Ok here are bank statements, health insurance, car insurance. I had bills and credit cards, he took the credit cards and said that was enough. He made copies of our drivers license and said he needed a copy of my hubbys (USC) birth certificate and said we were approved. He went through the process of removing conditions, laughed and talked a little bit more and we were out of the door. He never asked for pics. I asked for a stamp in my passport. He said they usually dont do it, but since my hubby was law enforcement, he would do it, but I had to surrender my work permit. So there it is. Hopefully it help people who may be wondering about ATL. Great experience. No real relationship questions asked. No lawyer used. The IO gave us his name and phone number. On the way home he did call us, saying that he forgot to ask how I wanted my name to be printed on the card. He was really nice.

All the very best to you...

congratulatons! ! !

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Thanks for sharing your story! Im in Atlanta and Im very anxious about the whole ordeal. Your post made me feel a little better...

Also, the proof you provided is exactly what we have too: bank statements, health insurance, car insurance, credit cards (under my name, but my wife has her own copies of the cards). No lease, as we are planning on buying a house soon, and we thought it didnt make sense to add her to my lease now. I hope that it will be enough, like it was in your case.
