How many times reentry permit be given? Greencard cancel & re-apply?

Hello..

My Parents & me got Greencards through Family-based visa sponsored by my moms sister. I m staying in USA for past 4 years but my parents were just maintaining the status by applying reentry permits as they want to stay in India. Till now, they have applied twice & about to come in a month.

Do you think if USCIS can give the reentry permit for 3rd time too?? Is there a limit how many times we can apply for reentry.

Even if they gave it for the third time, Is there a chance that they can cancel it or revoke the Greencard at the time of port of entry when they return back after 2 years?

I am thinking of having them cancel their Greencards voluntarily at this time and obtain a visiting visa just in case if they want to visit. Since I will be US Citizen after couple years, if in future, if they decide to come back to settle down in USA,I think I can apply a family based greencard for them again and can get it within a year (I guess, Am I correct?)

But, Is there a chance that USCIS might reject my application in future as they had a history of couple rentry permits/Volunatry greencard cancellation/Revocation of greencard at port of entry??

Having them file forms I-407 to give up current status seems to be the appropriate course of action. It will not be held against them in a future I-130 after you naturalize if they want to move to the U.S. in the future. If they only want to visit once in a great while, then B-2 tourist visas are appropriate for them.

See the form instructions about limitations on re-entry permits: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-131instr.pdf

Thanks a lot Joe, Do u happen to know how long would it take for my parents to receive Greencards if I apply after my naturalization.

About 6-9 months.
