I changed my name to my married name in my social security card (got it today). I plan on going Monday to change my Drivers license. Can I change my name on my conditional green card?. It was requested and issued in my maiden name. Should I wait until is time to submit the I-751 and change it then?. Please advise. Thank you
Yes, just use your GC with maiden name until you file I-751.
You probably wont be able to change your drivers license before changing the green card. States usually require the green card (or whatever other immigration document you have to prove your status) to have the same name that you want to show on the license. Theyre probably going to tell you to change the green card first.
What you should have done is requested in the interview to have the green card printed with your married name. But since you didnt do that, now you have to file I-90 and pay the fee to change the green card.
