Hey I got married to a USC filed all the documents with the exception of the AP in my packet. I still have a few days left to submit it, but I was curious as to what to put as the reason.
I want to say just 5-7 day vacation as that what I intend to use it for. I am in legal status and the green card might show up by my travel date. Submitting for AP is just a safeguard to purchase my airline ticket.

So the question is vacationing a valid reason?

Just write "personal travel".

Remember to include the I-485 receipt with the I-131 form.

Ofcourse it is. I got my AP stating "Honeymoon in Australia and New Zealand" as my reason back in 2002.
