7 for the intended applicant, and 1 for the sponsor.
I got my wife to take a mugshot of me against a white wall with our digital camera (watch the shadows), sized and repeated it in photoshop and printed on inkjet paper, and then cut them out - so far, so good and it saves a fair bit.
