Im a U.S. citizen and have filed immigrant petition (I-130) for my brother. I have received I-797 approval notice from USCIS, in which Im told that USCIS has sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC) at Portsmouth, NH, and that NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action.
Now since I relocated myself to another part of the country (specifically, New York). Shall I call both USCIS and NVC to report my change of address (so that I may continue to get notifications about the case)?
My next question is that is the case considered pending or approved?
It will be common sense to file a notice of change of address. Put it in another way, do your credit card statement go to the previous address as opposed to your current address? I am certain you called your bank too.
Yes, it is approved, but the visa availability is still another 8-9 years, depending on your country of origin. If you are from Mexico, Philippines, then maybe in the next 20 years before a visa number is available.
