My husbands EAD card arrived in the mail, but I got several confusing notes online about the cards status. I think it may be related to when we called up requesting changing our interview date because of moving.
First of all we didnt even cancel the interview, we were just calling up customer service to ask what the options and consequences were before making a decision, because it says to do that if you move before your interview date, we could have still traveled back to our previous town if they were going to make it a serious problem to change the interview, but anyway now we have a nasty letter saying that interview has been canceled already and that our request has delayed processing of his case and blah blah.
But my question is, is his EAD valid? On sept 9th they ordered his EAD card production, and on the online case status his 765 was all the way in card/production. On the 17th his card arrived in the mail. But a few days after the 9th the 765 status online changed from card production backward into post-decision activity, and its still there. Does this mean his EAD card is invalid? He is starting work at his new job on monday, but I dont want him to be in trouble with anyone by working using an invalid card. Did they change their minds about issuing a work authorization as part of delaying the processing of his case, but the card had already gone out in the mail? Will his workplace be in trouble for letting him work using that card, if thats the case? I cant tell whats going on, thanks.
If he has the card, it is valid. Do not trust the online status for anything.
post-decision activity in your EAD means they are sending your information to DHS,i believed you have heard of stories when you have you EAD in hand and you go to SSN office and they will tell you, they dont have your information,so when you get the post decision means your are cleared and ready to work,in other worlds your authorization is activated.production of the card is doesnt mean it valid.
Post-decision activity doesnt mean the card has been canceled. It could be something as simple as a routine audit or file archiving.
The EAD is valid until its expiration date, unless they send you a notice of its cancellation. The I-485 has not been denied, it was only delayed, correct?
Have EAD card, but is it valid?
