Hi guys,
I am regular visitor of this forum. just to tell my breif history i am getting my AOS through marriage and have my interview next month.
My wife is from Wisconsin and me myself resides in Ilinois. After getting married she moved out with me in IL. For her change of address i took her to the DMV office and got her IL identification card (she is a U.S citizen). I wanted her to get also a IL driver licence but she told me that she had failed the written test in the past in WI so she doesnt wanna go through that again.
My question is that having a Wisconsin driver licence and Illisnois identification card would that be a concerned in the interview or not ?
Her mail is coming to the ILLinois address the only thing is she has a WI driver licence and just for the sake of written test she doesnt wanna change that.
I would really appreciate you advice on this.
Thanks
No, no problem at all. To keep it simple, if USCIS asks for her ID at the interview, just show the IL ID card.
Btw, she will have to get IL drivers license soon if she is going to be a resident there. She cant be driving with a WI drivers license in IL for ever.
Have you also gone to the USCIS web page and changed the address there? Once you sign in, it has a area to change your address. I know this didnt answer your question directly but at least USCIS would be updated before her interview.
Btw, she will have to get IL drivers license soon if she is going to be a resident there. She cant be driving with a WI drivers license in IL for ever. Most states only give 10-30 days for new residents to change the license. She could get in trouble with the cops or with insurance if she continues to drive with a WI license after that.
complicated situation !!!
