USPS delivery issue.

Hey everyone,

I sent some documents (RFE from I-485/I-130) to Lees Summit, MO and when I was checking the delivery status it said this:
"We attempted to deliver your item at 10:39 am on August 25, 2010 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64002 and a notice was left. You may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice, go to www.usps.com/redelivery, or call 800-ASK-USPS to arrange for redelivery. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later"

The documents are the evidence they requested from RFE for my I-485/I-130 application. I used USPS Priority Mail delivery method.

Does this happen often? Did this happen to anyone else?

Please let me know what to do in this situation.

Thanks.

It is a standard message USPS delivered on such case, just ignore it, your letter will be delivered to the NBC as you requested. Many people on this board has received this message and got freaked out, dont be one of them. Check towards the end of the day or tomorrow, your package would have been delivered. Please make sure you hug your mailman next time, they do an excellent job....lol!!!

Do you know why this happens? Is it the NBC that doesnt have anyone to accept the letter during the first try?

Thanks for your response!

T,

I usually dont bother why and what USCIS does, if you do, you might end confined to a mental institution. All you have to focus on, get your case processed and approved, whatever information is requested is submitted.
