Application Receipt Number
Today checking online my bank account Ive noticed that CIS cashed my 4 checks (2 for I-130 and 2 for I-485)
On the back of the checks were a few numbers, one with 9 digits, one with 10 digits and one looking like this:
MSC 123 456 1230 (I-130 mother)
MSC 123 456 1231 (I-485 Mother)
MSC 123 456 1232 (I-130 Father)
MSC 123 456 1233 (I-485 Father)
Im assuming these are the receipt numbers.
What do you think? Am I right, or I should look for one of the other numbers?

Suzy, just in case you put the "real" numbers remember that is a public forum and safety first.
And answering your question yes the receipts are like that MSC and 10 digits, if these digits are on cronological order there had been issued more than a million receipts already

I really appreciate your concern.
No, besides the three letters "MSC" all the other numbers are not the real ones.
And judging by the real ones, Ill say that they went over 600 millions receipts!!!

Yes Suzy... those are the receipt numbers starting with MSC.
The receipt numbers follow a specific format like this. For eg. MSC 05 245 12345
* MSC represents the NBC, where the application was initially received into the electronic system.
* The 05 represents the fiscal year (October 1, through September 30) in which the case was received.
* The 245 represents the computer workday in the fiscal year on which the fee was taken.
* The 12345 represents the particular case number.
So its not necessarily true that they went over 600 million receipts to get to yours
