What is passport police certificate?

We received appointment letter for Visa Interview it says applicant need to bring Passport police certificate.

How to obtain this certificate in India ?

While I dont know how you obtain this certificate in India, what the Consulate is looking for is for you to go to your local police station, request a clearance from them that you are NOT A CRIMINAL OR HAVE CURRECT CRIMINAL matters pending. It is a documentation to prove that you are a law abiding citizen.

I am sure other persons will provide more information to you.

Hi, I also got the same letter asking me for a passport police certificate. My interview date is in early September. I told them I am in the US for last 5 yrs on legal status. I provided them a PCC from Indian Consulte in the US as well as a PCC from local police station. They want it from a local passport office. i will have to obtain it from Surat Passport office..

Let me know if you already met passpoert office people..whats their procedure..
