quick question about Social Security NumberI overstayed my student visa and am in the process of I-485 (see progress below). I just received Employment Authorization card. Am I eligible to apply for Social Security Number? If yes, how long will it take to get the number?
If you already had a Social Security number from your F1 days, you wouldnt apply for a new one, you would just keep using the same one.
Otherwise, if you dont have one, the EAD will allow to apply for one and it should be issued in 2-4 weeks.
