sponsor and lost job before interview

I petitioned my mom, I am a USC, she is scheduled for an interview back home next month. I am the primary sponsor and I used my husbands income in filing the Affidavit od Support because I was short 2k with my income last year for the affidavit of the support. My husband lost his job 2 days ago. should I call NVC and let them know? I dont have no body that will co sponsor. Does anybody who have the same situation like me? Please share what should I do? Any suggestions will be appreciated!

You can use assets to offset the income requirement. Youre $2K short, so you need 5 times that much ($10,000) combined from you, your mother, and your husband to supplement your income.

Thank you for your response. I do not have that amount.Should i inform NVC that my husband lost job. I am sure that we will meet the guidelines for this year even he lost his job.

If you tell them about your husbands lack of a job without providing updated information to show how you can meet the financial requirements, that will put the case on the path to ruin.

When you tell them about his job loss you need to file a new I-864 simultaneously and provide proof of extra income or assets to make up the difference. Dont send it to NVC; have your mother bring it to the interview.

The $10,000 of assets doesnt have to be in cash. Does your mother own a home or car where she lives now? Do you have jewelry that would be appraised for thousands of dollars?
