My mother-in-law currently filed I-864 as a joint sponsor and her income meets the 125% of poverty guidelines. But now my wife needs to file I-864 for me and she didnt work for the last two years due to having a baby. She did work in 2008 but her income did not require filing taxes. She does not have her 2008 W-2.
So my question is: would it be enough for her to write an affidavit stating that her income in 2008 did not require filing. Plus taxes were deducted from her paychecks anyway. Btw she started working again about a month ago.
-Would she need a statement from employer?
-Whats the best solution without involving with IRS?
-Does she just put 0 in her current income? How should we go about it?
