Please reply to my post. My conditional green card period is expiring in Oct 2011. But unfortunately my marriage is heading towards divorce.I know I can file for citizenship & removal of conditional status 90 days before Oct 2011
a) Should I postpone divorce till the time I file for citizenship. How it matters if you get divorce after you have filed but before you actually become citizen ?
b) Also I want to call my parents to support me for 2-3 months. Will I be able to easily sponsor them eve after divorce as I havent worked in US till now. Also if at all we divorce, can I visit my country after filing for citizenship or after getting it
Why dont you try to work on your marriage instead of contemplating divorce stage? There a number of programs to help married couples with failing marriages.
Not for citizenship, just removal of conditions. You need to submit I-751 in the 90 day window before Oct 2011.

You can divorce and file for a removal of conditions as a divorced person. As long as your marriage was bonafide, you should be okay.
If you divorce before you remove conditions or any time before the 3 years, you will not be able to naturalize at the 3 year mark. You will have to wait the five years that other LPRs have to wait.
