Hello,

I have a question.
Do we have to be a citizen for certain period of time before we can sponsor our spouse?
I am processing my citizenship now, and waiting for interview. My wife is under H1-B. Our plan is once after I become citizen, I will sponsor her for GC so that she doesnt need to be under H1-B anymore.
How fast can I do that? Should I wait for couple of months after I become a citizen before I can sponsor her? Or can I just do it right away once I received my naturalization letter?
Please advice. Wed like to plan ahead of time.

Oh another info (if needed), weve been married for 1 year and 8 months.

I am in the same position as the OP, my wife is on H1-B and I just finished my naturalization interview 10 days ago. I am in the process of getting my wifes paperwork ready so that I can file the same or next day of my Oath ceremony when I get my naturalization certificate.
