Have a quick question. I know that being a joint sponsor is a lot of financial liability. I am thinking of being a joint sponsor for one of my relatives (by filing I-864). My question is IF for some reason things go bad or circumstances do not allow me, can i cancel or withdraw my joint sponsored ship contract with US government? To say i no longer want to be a joint sponsor of so and so because of whatever reason?
Thanks all!
No. You can not cancel it.
Thanks PraetorianXI. Thats what i thought but wanted to confirm. So basically once you are in, your neck if on the line.
Until that resident dies, becomes a citizen, abandones his PR status or contributes 40 quarters in taxes.
Can i cancel or withdraw myself from being joint sponsor (I-864)
