My mother is expecting AP by March 2009.
Is it mandatory for her to wait for AP to get i hands or can she leave the USA and one can Fedex her AP when received in the mail.

The only caveat is what if USCIS s monitoring I-94 and what if they considered GC abandoned if they found person left USA without getting AP in hand.

I couldnt help considering that 131 had an option of mailing AP to out of country at the time of application but it gets little complicated that it is an AOS case with mother in USA while applying.

In short: Does she have to wait till she receives AP in her hand before she boards the outward flight?

If you think its worth taking the risk for good reason, do it. Otherwise, dont. Its that simple.
