Immigration Site

I received my ead today and i went to social securuty of to apply for social security card but i refused to issue one cauz they said they need my valid passport and they handed over me peace of paper that says what documents i need before i apply for sscard


to prove

your immigration status ...........one of the following documention
1. I-94
2. I-20
3. ead card..
4. form I551

your age proof ...............one of the following documention
1. birth certificate
2.passport or
3. a deparment of homeland document
your identity proof.................one of the following documentation
1. us driver license
2.ead card

your work eligibility ...............one of the documentation
1. ead
2. form I551 green card


my question there is whole info available on my ead card like my date of birth and alll so why did the guy wanted my passport..... which is experied and with take ttime to renew it..... he did not even pay attention to my papers and did not even look at my ead card carefully that it had all the info he just hand over me the paper that what i need so what should i do i dont think i need any other paper as when i called 1800 number for social security office they said i am good and then i told him what happen he said i have to talk to my local office seems like he dont know anything either if any of the person here can help me with this i will be glad,,,,,,, wont able to renew passport until next month waiting for my appointment........... should i go there again and talk to someone else or just wait more

Go there and talk to somebody else, and dont leave until you find someone that will understand you have all you need to request a SSN (show them the paper where it clearly states the EAD card on all 3 types of proof..)
