Does anyone know why the priority dates for family based visas listed by USCIS website and visa bulletin differ? The visa bulletin shows dates that indicate a longer waiting period for my category. Which one is more accurate? Thanks.

Does anyone know why the priority dates for family based visas listed by USCIS website and visa bulletin differ? The priority dates are issued by the Department of State, and indicate the dates for which visas are available. The USCIS web sites indicate the processing dates for petitions.

For an FB4 petition, you cannot file an I-485 until your PD is current based on the visa bulletin, after which you would track it on the USCIS site, assuming your PD remains current.
