How long it takes to receive the Social Security Card in the Mail
Hi Guys,
I was wondering how long it takes to receive the Social Security Card in the mail, since I went today to the SS office and applied for a SS#; I already have my GC. They told me it can up to 4 weeks, is that true, cause I really need to have my ss#.
Based on my husband experience, anywhere between 6 days and FOREVER (Just kidding, 12 weeks!!)
I went to the SSA, today too, it is still showing "needs further verification" in their system, so they send the application somewhere, for the documents (EAD, GC, i-551 stamp) to be verified. Supposedly, it takes 3 weeks, before they hear back from the verification... then 3-4 more before you receive it in the mail... Give it 2 months
