Professor denied visa.
She married an American, went down to her native Panama for some summer research and then couldnt get back into the States. Link to the story:

She used to be J-1 with HRR, came back with O-1 visa (couldnt get an HRR waiver, I guess), married a USC, went home, and applied for a non-immigrant visa to come back to the States, then got stuck in a security check that pretty much everybody is getting stuck in. Then, she finally got a visa. People have stories much worse than that. Some wait for 5 years for that check to be over.
