Visa Extension or I130?

My wifes visitor visa expires in a month and my citizenship interview is a couple of weeks after that. We are trying to figure out the best choice to for her to continue her stay in the US legally.

I have read that overstay is not considered that bad if she is going to be considered for AOS by marriage soon.

The other option is to seek extension by stating her situation clearly - married to soon to be citizen. What are the chances of that being granted on those grounds?

Please suggest options,

Thanks.

I would not seek an extension to a Visitors Visa on the basis of married to a U.S. Citizen if I were you.

Your wife can return to her country of origin and you can start Consular Processing there.

Thx. asPapi.

Re-entry from a neighboring country is a possibility but there is no surety that shell be allowed back in so soon.
I cannot petition for an alien relative without the citizenship yet.

You can file the petition for your wife as an LPR. Once you become a USC you can upgrade the petition at that time.
