SSN/Tax ID number for wife who is in AOS process

I filed I-130, I-485 and I-765 for my wife in July. She is adjusting from B2 to permanent resident. She does not have a SSN nor a Tax ID number, so we filed all paperwork without.
She wants to open up a checking account at my bank but they require a SSN or Tax ID.. I assume that she is eligible for a SSN after her EOD is done. However, can I get a Tax ID number for her now and later convert it to a SSN? My understanding is that she cant have a SSN and a separate Tax ID number. They have to be the same. So, how is the process so that she will only have one number.. How does the Tax ID convert to a SSN or does it not?
Any information is appreciated..

Another issue is her Florida drivers license. She has one but she cant renew as she has a specific temporary license and it is only issued for the time of her I-94. Her I-94 experied 1 day after filing her paperwork.. Now I wonder if theres a way to renew her drivers license just with the Receipt notices for her immigration paperwork. Her status is pending and therefore she is legally in the country...

In my case, I filed for tax return with my spouse. Later they sent me a letter assigning me a tax id number. However, they told me to call them as soon as I get a SSN so they can update that in their database. They will then replace my tax id number with my SSN.

However, they told me to call them as soon as I get a SAN so they can update that in their database. They will then replace my tax id number with my SAN. You both are correct as I have a tax id number also. As soon as you get your SS number you can go in with your card to the local office, not to sure if they will except it over the phone though as with USCIS they want physical proof. But who know when and if I get my ss# Ill try calling before I make the trip.
