hello, I recently got married and just got my green card approved. and i will like to change the name on my social security card to my married name.
Does anybody know where and how to apply for the change?

also i got my SSN card when i was having a F1 visa, so it says " valid for work only with INS authorization" on the card.
Since i am going to get my green card soon, will they remove that statement from my new SSN card?

Thanks a lot! Once you receive your green card, go to the SSA office with it, bring your original marriage certificate (which must show your new last name as well) and just file a new application (number remains the same).

You will receive a brand new social security card, with just your new name and same SSN.
