Hello All..I am sorry if this question has already been answered..but I really did try searching, but to no avail..

My husbands (spnsor) income is above 125% poverty line..but hes been working for only 1 yr and we have not filed 2004s tax return and am not sure whether well be able to in time..my mother-in-law is ready to be the co-sponsor..so my questions are:

1. Do my MIL and FIL have to come for the AOS interview with us..they really want to come to show the interviewer that i m like their daughter..but i do not know if their coming would raise any questions..or be counted as a negative.

2. My inlaws have been filing their joint tax returns, i.e. MIl and FIL..now if my MIL is sponsoring me, can we still submit their joint tax returns for the last 3 yrs?

So, if you wait until after you file 2005 tax return, you will not need to have a joint sponsor.

They dont have to come but they should be reachable in case the interviewing officer wants to contact them.

Like I said, 1 year would be enough. Now, if your mother-in-laws income alone qualifies, then you dont need to provide info for your father-in law even if they file jointly (read the instructions on the form).

I have another prolly stupid question for ppl who had their AOS interviews.
When the interviewer asked for any documents, did you guys hand over the originals or the copies? Like for example, if they asked to show them the bills or anything with both husbands and wifes name on it..did you guys give them the original bank accts, bills, insurance (health $ life), etc...I am making copies of the originals and wasnt sure what I should give to them when asked.

Just getting nervous as the time passes..but I also want to get it over with..After reading so many successful stories, I am hoping it wouldnt be a big deal! You all have been a tremedous help!!
