So my husband just graduated last May so his W2 for 2005 doesnt really show how much he currently makes. In the same way, all his income before then came just from his work-study job and summer internships and that is what is shown in his past tax returns. He already askef for a letter from his company stating how much he makes and what position he holds there and were also gonna attach his contract. I was wondering if we would still have to send copies of his tax returns, even though those have nothing to do with his current real income.
Tax return is to know that he paid the taxes to the IRS and some other information that they check on it. For current salary your husband must send his paystubs and employment letter. Are you filing?
Cherr is correct. Just make sure you have a letter from the current employer and paystubs for last 3 months (I took 6 months paystub with me). In my case, my wife had very little income (internship etc.) so I co-sponsored myself and it worked out fine. If your husband is applying for you, you may want to look into cosponsoring yourself if you have enough income.
Oh OK. I thought that we only needed to submit his tax returns as proof of his income. Do I need to submit my tax returns too? Yep, were kinda ready to file. I mean, we were considering hiring a lawyer but I think we can do this ourselves.
thanks so much!
