I130/I485 case transfer to service center, why?

I filed I485/I130 package for my parents to Chicago Lockbox the same time in early Novermer, 05. My Moms case is normal. Today she received a interview notice which says the interview will be in San Francisco office in March 06.

But my fathers case is odd. Today he received one notice, says his I-485 has been transfered to California service center. I received one notice, says my I-130 petition is transfered to Californian Service Center.

Does anyone know why this is happening? How come CIS treat my father and my mothers application differently? What will happen to my fathers case? Does CIS miss something here?

Thanks.

Ding

Hi, Ding!
Your story sounds almost similar to mine.
I filed one I-498 for myself and one for my son, both sponsored by my husband.
Our files got separated in the process for some reason.
Several months later we got appointment notice for son and transfer notice (to TSC) for me. I wrote and sent two certified letters, one to my local DO, another to MSC asking to reunite our files (they are suppose to keep family members together!).
Haven’t heard back from anybody.
When we went to my son’s interview – they told us they cannot approve him ahead of me and send his file back to the Service Center.
Good news – two month later (after the transfer) we got two interview letters, same day and time.

Now, in your case - since you don’t know any reasons why would they treat your father differently then your mom - means they probably separated your parents’ files by mistake.
When I got my transfer notice, it said they were transferring for “faster processing” which turned out to be the opposite in my case.
You can try to contact your local DO and ask to schedule your papers together (good luck with that). But in any case I don’t think your mom’s GC will have to wait for your dad’s case transferred back to your local DO. It’s different process for parents then for spouses.

All,
Today I received an email from USCIS abt my parents case. I got two identical emails , one for I-130 or I-485. I am here with enclosing the I-130 email.

Does this mean the case was transffered to CSC or local Office in CSc (which is Los Angeles)? CSC Processes the I-130 and I-485 are processed by LA Office. Can anybody throw more light what I can expect?
Thanks for your reply. Timelines are in the signature .
Thanks in advance for all your help.

I got a second emil today for the I-130/485 I filed with MSC. The email reads as follows. The same kind of email is also receivedd by me for my parents I-485.

Back ground -
I filed I-130, 131, 485 to Chicago Lock box. Few days back, I recd email from the automated system that my case is transferred to Californoa Service Center for Processing. Now, with another five days , I get this second email. My time lines are in the signature.

What does this mean? Does it mean we really have to wait for 900 days?

Appreciate your input. Thank you.
