Immigration Site

Today i goe a I-797 notice of action says that my wife permanent resident status has been registered. They will soon mail us a new Permanent Resident Card. We should receive it within the next 3 weeks. The problem is we will out of conrtury in Dec 14. My local office is at New Orleans and service center is in Texas service center. Can anyone tell me usually when we can get GC? Thanks
