Ignorant Lawyers

Guys, I know this thread might not be for here, but it concerns many.
What I see from the threads posted is that many of the newbies deal with and fill pockets of incredibly ignorant lawyers.
One hasnt heard of an interim EAD, other doesnt know the time for med exam... And probably there are many more who just havnt shared their bad luck with an ignorant lawyer.
And if these guys dont do the search for info by themselves.... What?
Its slightly said alarming

I guess we lucked out!! We have actually never even seen our lawyer!! She was recomended from an old law firm that my wife used to work at!! I belive she just works for herself, not a huge firm, so the communication between her and us is very good. I guess one just needs to do some research when it comes to selecting a lawyer.

Yupps....I have been kind of duped by my lawyer. While I knew that I could handle most of the filing by myself, I was just not confident enough to handle it on my own. I thought it better to write it off as a one-time expense.

You must educate yourself on the topics, using every possible way, including a forum like this. Use lawyer only to consult specific steps. In many situations, the law says one thing but the reality is completely different. Thats when lawyers and their experience are very useful.
Remember, the lawyer gets paid regardless of the outcome of your case. Putting the outcome of your case and the rest of your life solely in their hands is a huge mistake!
