I-130 Upgrade
Hi
I sponsored my unmarried Son two years ago as a green card holder. The case is pending. Now I am about to be US citizen. Is there a way to upgrade the same case or I will have to file a new case. In case of the "upgrdae" is it any faster than filing a new case.

You can upgrade your case and it will faster your case as visa # is always available to immidiate relative of a citizen. You have to send a copy of the Notice of form I-130 and a copy of your Naturalization Certificate to the Service Center where you have filled form I-130. They will send you a letter of confirmation within 30 days. I am going to do the same thing in my case as I have filed for my Husband.

You can upgrade the category by submitting a request (cover letter with case details) along with copy of your naturalization certificate.
