Hi,
I received a letter from USCIS telling me that I have an interview to AOS. I will have the interview on Nov 17, 04. They are asking for the I-797 original. I do not have a I-797. Does anybody knows, what kind of letter they want. I married a USC may 2003. I filed all the package to Adjust my status. I came with a F-1 visa and one week after my graduation, I got married. I havent heard anything from my office about the I-130. I have not received any letter saying that my I-130 has been approved. Would anybody help me to understand, why I got the interview, but I havent heard about I-130, is this necessary for the interview. and what is a I-797. It will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Lupitenis
I-797 Notice of Action - is the receipt that you got for every application that you have filed with BCIS.
In a case of a marriage to a USC both I-485 and I-130 get adjudicated at the same time - at the interview (especially if they have been submitted at the same time in the same package).
LucyMO,
Thank you for the information. I understand better now. I will get all the paperwork that they are askin for, I will not worry about the I-130 anymore. My interview is November 17 and now I am pretty excited. I wiil post back how my interview went.
Thank you so much,
Lupitenis
Good luck!
I-130 not approved yet, but got I-485 Interview.
