Do i need a lawyer to petition?
im a US citizen and want to get a petition for my mother.
do i need a lawyer to do this? or is there a form out there where i can download and send in? any help would do thanks!
you dont need a lawyer. The forms are available at www.uscis.gov

go to the website uscis.gov and download the forms you will need.
if your mom is already here it will be easy.
you will need to file I-130, I-485, G325A for you and her, I-864
also she needs to have a medical exam, and depending on where you file they will either notify you or you have to send it with the application
the form is I-693.
thats pretty much it.
also you may want to apply for advanced parole or a work permit but thats optional.
