I-140 processing centre

Hi all,
My labor was processed by BEC recently, it was applied in the state of Illinois (Chicago). I was told that my I-140 should be processed thru Nebraska. Is that true or can I process thru any of the centres like Vermont. My company had head office in NY and branch office in Chicago.
